What is the difference between the Home and the Logout options?
Clicking the "Home" option takes you back to
the post logon page from wherever in Global-Workplace you are. If you want
to logout from the Global-Workplace, you should choose "logout" which
will take you back to the pre-logon page and end your session as a User.
Why do I need to complete a profile?
By entering a profile, your personal preferences and experience will be matched to the
vacancies submitted on the Global-Workplace. We will then inform you by email of
relevant opportunities.
No, only you and the administrators at Global-Workplace can read your profile.
Can I update my profile whenever I wish?
Yes, you can. We recommend you regularly update your profile. It is your way of ensuring that
the site offers you relevant job matches and your applications reflect your current skills and
experience.
Can I read the profiles of other users?
No, the profile section is fully confidential.
Do I have to fill in the whole form?
No, you are not obliged to provide any more information than that requested in the mandatory
fields. However, remember that the more information you give us, the closer the site will be
able to match your profile to the available positions.
What are the mandatory fields?
Mandatory fields are the boxes you are obliged to complete when you submit your profile. They
are critical in enabling us to match vacancies against your details. All mandatory fields are
marked by an asterisk.
Why is my email address a mandatory field?
Your email is the only way in which the Global-Workplace will be able to contact you to inform
you of vacancies that match.
What is the difference between "experience" and "preferences" in the profile form?
The "experience" section details your actual career path to date. The "preferences" section
allows you to outline which future career options you are considering. This feature is particularly useful for
those Users deliberating about a career change, allowing them to review the job market in the new sector without any commitment.
I clicked Submit but nothing happened
Please check that you have completed all the mandatory fields. Then click the "Submit" button once.
Can I put company names into the search box?
Our search facility will provide matches against all types of criteria. You can search by using a
company name, or the position you are seeking, or any other criteria which interests you.
The Advanced Search is a facility which allows you to enter more complex search criteria, e.g.
North America, CEO and Salary over $200,000. Because it provides details only of groups of
criteria, the Advanced Search option typically returns fewer but more closely matched vacancies.
Why can't I find the option I want in the Advanced Search?
Our search criteria and profiling systems aim to be as wide-ranging as possible. However,
inevitably there will be some locations, industries and positions that we do not include.
Please try to find the nearest match. If you think there is a search criteria not included which
we should include, please email us with your suggestion at [email protected]
In the search results, firstly click on the job title you are interested in. To apply simply go
to Job Tools located on the top right corner and click "Apply" .
In what format can I add my CV/Resume?
We recommend using Microsoft Word, though PDF files can also be added. You can store up to five
at any one time.
Can I submit a covering letter along with my CV/Resume?
When sending your CV/Resume to a prospective employer you should always make sure you include a covering
letter. It is your opportunity to tell them why you are the right candidate for the job and why
they should employ you, as opposed to anyone else. More importantly, it further emphasises the
connection between your experience and the requirements of the position in question.
My Log provides a summary of your applications, and the date they were made.
There is no need for you to update your Saved Jobs. This section automatically records all your applications to date.
