Director, Global Commercial Forecasting Oncology

Job Description

Position Overview - Basic Functions & Responsibility

Essential function(s) includes, but is not limited to:

  • Leads regional and local efforts to understand forecast assumptions leading to current and expected performance through close partnership with marketing, CORE, market research, access, finance and other stakeholders
  • Synthesizes information to drive fact-based recommendations, develops a compelling rationale, and aligns stakeholders on marketing levers that can be activated to enhance top line growth
  • Integrates advanced analytics capabilities to convey forecast risks and opportunities to senior leaders in the region to drive robust decisions
  • Serves as consultant to regional and country leadership with marketing, finance, or forecasting responsibilities
  • Leads allocated personnel in India-based COE

 

Primary Activities

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Enhances country efforts to drive market share performance by determining if the activation of marketing levers in the forecast are being achieved as evidenced in primary / secondary data / analytics and partnering with marketing leaders to make appropriate tactical updates
  • Highlights risks and opportunities, drives scenario planning, and links forecasts with resources to enhance decision making across local and regional leadership
  • Leads situational analyses to improve local insights on pricing assumptions, epidemiology, affordability, and other event driven assumptions
  • Collaborates with local and regional leaders during forecast planning cycles for the company and alliance-based indications
  • Achieves critical business results in a constantly changing environment while maintaining the company`s Leadership Standards
  • Advises forecast COE leaders on capabilities and simplifications which should be incorporated into global forecast platform and supporting processes
  • Prioritizes and manages complex forecasting projects with little / no guidance
  • Partners and collaborates with Marketing, Market Research, Finance, Region, and Country personnel
  • Oversees forecasting and analytics personnel in India-based COE

 

Specialist Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions within complex organizations and markets by leading teams in support of agreed upon goals
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in large, cross functional teams
  • Strong knowledge of forecasting techniques / software and quantitative problem solving
  • Strong analytical skills; an aptitude for problem-solving and strategic thinking
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable recommendations for regional and local leaders

 

Education:  Bachelors degree required; MS/MA/MBA degree, in marketing or analytic field (e.g., Statistics, OR, Finance, etc)

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and forecasting tools/techniques

 

Required Experience:

·        Minimum of 10 years Pharmaceutical Industry experience

·        Minimum of 5 years Pharmaceutical Forecasting and Analytical experience

·        Demonstrated leadership and project management skills

·        Proven ability to communicate effectively with upper and lower levels of management

 

Preferred Experience:

·        Cross-functional leadership: ability to work across divisions and functions to ensure that work progresses effectively and efficiently

·        Proven ability to manage ambiguity and to adapt to the changing needs of customers and the business

·        Demonstrated proven leadership experience in delivering complex solutions

·        Ability to drive decision making

·        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·        Market Research experience
