Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Manufacturing Excellence Manager. The successful incumbent will be based in the Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Head Offices, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Excellence Manager and will lead of team of six subordinates. The successful candidate will ensure consistency, uniformity and integrity in the manufacturing of CCBA products throughout Greater Africa through the application of standards and procedures and adherence to agreed governance systems. Coca Cola Beverages Africa is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler accounting for 40 percent of all Coca- Cola volumes on the continent. CCBA is a market leader in the non-alcoholic ready to drink market in Africa. CCBA has an extensive footprint in Africa, employing over 16 000 employees.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Key Purpose: The role will require the candidate to cooperate with the Coca Cola Beverages South Africa, Centers of Excellence in owning, deploying and improving the Supply Chain Ways of Working and building high performance capability across all CCBA countries. Establishing in country Best Practice Sites for all Manufacturing capabilities within the CCBA into these as a source of innovation and continuous improvement, as well as a means for accelerating capability development of Manufacturing operational employees. Participating in the establishment of Communities of Practice (CoP) for key areas of opportunity in Manufacturing as a focused means of developing best practice and innovation. Involving key Manufacturing talent in the CoP’s to accelerate the pace of innovation as well as personal developmental purpose Key Outputs and Accountabilities Include: 1. Drive High Performance Manufacturing Capability and Talent:Ensuring rapidly increasing levels of capability proactively aligned to the changing business landscape in Manufacturing.Designing and developing manufacturing capability development interventionsDeveloping and deploying manufacturing capability development framework, curricula and process by leveraging capability and expertise of large countriesBeing responsible for in-country manufacturing capability development for CCBA countries.Utilizing manufacturing CoE’s and best practice sites in large countries to establish formalized capability building programs to be used to accelerate capability building as well as standardization across countries. 2. Enable Manufacturing Performance through standardisation and best practice adoption: Participating in improving and deploying the standardized ways of working that will enable sustainable performance.Identifying best practices through audits and tapping into CoE’s and best practice sites.Providing focused in country support and intervention for CCBA countries.Focusing the manufacturing operations on delivering value through integrated Key Performance Indicators that drive bottom line performance in the countries.Instilling a culture of continuously creating, sharing, and adopting of innovative technology and best practices.Standardizing and packaging these for deployment across all CCBA operations.Developing the maturity curves and audits for all manufacturing capability areas. Auditing manufacturing plants against these, plotting results and determining level of support required to improve country results and performance. 3. Develop Maintenance standards: Developing and implementing maintenance standards for all technical assets, including Production equipment, Processing equipment and Utilities.Supporting countries in the implementation of these standards and provide capability building support. 4. Manage and develop team: Managing the performance and development of all direct reports.Ensuring correct skill levels and an appropriate pipeline in the CCBA manufacturing fraternity according to company policies and targets.Consulting with Supply Chain Director, Supply Chain Excellence Manager and Head Quarter Talent Development and identify high potential manufacturing talent for rotational roles in Manufacturing Development roles.Ensuring that all rotational roles have clear objectives, thus ensuring personal and organisational development and improvement.

Specialist Experience

Education Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical field (Food science, Food Technology, etc.) Added Advantage: MBA, Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technical field Experience 5+ years of leadership experience in both operational and corporate environments in a variety of Supply Chain roles - both generalist and specialist. Needs to have senior Manufacturing Management operational experience. Deep understanding of the Supply Chain Way and other best in class SC operating models Detail understanding of Production plant Operational Processes and Systems Continuous Improvement knowledge, skills and mind-set Very good understanding of CCBA business processes which includes Financial management, Performance Management, CAP / Talent management
