This position will have responsibility for providing insights which meaningfully improve portfolio strategy and tactics across the EU/RoW region. In addition this position will contribute towards the assessment of Jazz development assets or acquisition targets, contributing towards the final Go/No-Go decision. This position will work closely with the Commercial and Medical teams of the EU/RoW region and with the New Product Planning, Corporate Development and Global Molecule Teams globally, ensuring identification of insights, transfer of best practice and a holistic assessment of new product targets.


Essential Functions:

  • New Product Planning (NPP) and Commercial Evaluation
    • Contribute towards the assessment of new product/asset business opportunities across the EU/RoW region.
    • Collaborate with Global Corporate Development and US New Product Planning to contribute to the full global business case – assessment of opportunities to include but not limited to full financial, legal, intellectual property and commercial analysis.
    • Gain insights which will inform operational launch decisions – including but not limited to the development of target product profile, labeling, channel considerations, health technology assessment and trial design.
    • Collaborate globally and input on strategic projects that are managed at an EU/ROW region level.
    • Assess and determine EU/RoW organizational needs for large-scale acquisitions.
    • Drive geographic expansion in EU/RoW region via actionable commercial assessments – provide guidance on asset value maximizing country lists for MAA filings and go-direct vs. partnering strategies.
    • Maintain a strong network of Business Analysis & Insights and Market Access & Pricing vendors.
  • Actively participate in relevant industry meetings and conferences.




Specialist Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Life-science preferred) or equivalent experience. MBA or other business qualification preferred.
  • Proven experience within a life sciences company or consulting firm supporting the healthcare industry with a specific focus on delivery of business analytics and insights programs.
  • Knowledgeable of the Biopharmaceutical industry, ideally with specific expertise in multiple therapeutic areas, incl. exposure to the science, clinical practices, market dynamics, competitive products, competitive selling strategies, etc., in domestic and international markets.
  • Broad understanding of pharmaceutical data, including market research data, and which source to leverage in order to answer business questions most effectively.
  • Strong understanding of health technology assessment procedures in key EU/ROW markets and price potential assessments.
  • Possess a good understanding of drug development and commercialization.
  • Ability to impact and influence and interact with senior business leaders and partners.
  • Versed in working collaboratively, cross-functionally and globally with Research & Development, Medical Affairs, Commercial Development and Marketing to formulate portfolio strategy and drive competitive initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of broad commercial strategies, financials, IP and legal issues involved in business development projects preferred.


Travel Percent: 10-20%
