Job Description


  • In this role, you will serve as the key partner on insights and analytics to the DePuy Synthes franchise in the EMEA region, being part of the regional Global Business Insights (GBI) team. You will help the regional franchise teams better understand the market environment we operate in and deliver data-driven insights that enable fact-based strategic decision making and lead to superior growth.
  • Your projects include market share reporting, market growth forecasting, procedural analysis and understanding, and Net Promoter Score research. We expect you to proactively recommend and deliver adequate tools and techniques to the business to efficiently generate deep insights. A strong connection to global GBI teams will be essential in this role to ensure strategic alignment and leverage best practices.
  • We also expect you to analyze data from disparate systems, including ERP, CRM, education systems, public data to derive crisp insights that you can then communicate to your business partners. In order to do this, you have a strong experience of hands-on data work and a strong understanding of various analytics methodologies and techniques.
  • This role requires a high degree of business acumen and understanding to effectively partner with franchise and regional teams in a highly matrixed structure. It requires very strong analytical skills and an understanding of primary and secondary market research. Strong drive, prioritization and executional skills are essential.

Required Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Become the trusted business partner on insights and analytics for the regional franchise team.
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage, create, influence and execute high-impact tactical and strategic marketplace understanding and learning plans. This includes primary and secondary research and strategic and tactical forecasting.
  • Demonstrate an ability to influence multiple stakeholders to ensure a high-level of team involvement in key business discussions.
  • Support Franchise Team in
    • Secondary insights and marketplace assessment solutions
    • Flawless execution of all secondary insight activities required to drive success of the business and pipeline
    • Proactively providing fact-based insights and analytics programs to address specific business needs
    • Developing and implementing new innovative insights and business analytics tools , techniques and processes
    • Proactively generating insights based on multiple data sources.
    • Ensuring that Franchise strategy is appropriately executed in region
  • Provide foundational learning that helps to ensure that new products and programs are grounded in understanding of marketplace dynamics
  • Support education and dissemination of existing knowledge estate and market information for key Platform cross-functional partners
  • Support EMEA Global Business Insights in data integration to form the Regional Knowledge Estate
  • Partner with the Global GBI team to create and maintain best-in-class analytical and marketplace assessment practices


Specialist Experience

Required Education And/Or Experience:

  • BS or BA in business, marketing, statistics, mathematics, or related field. MBA or MS is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in competitive intelligence, secondary market research, forecasting, strategic insights, market research, business analytics, finance or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience in managing people is preferred.
  • Requires a high degree of business acumen, influence and strong executive communication skills.
  • Experience in the medical device, hospital specialty, or healthcare field is preferred, but not required.
  • Proven track record of performance that demonstrates strong leadership and potential.
  • Proven track record of working in a matrix environment where a high degree of collaboration and initiative is needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

  • Curiosity and high energy level required to proactively engage with business partners.
  • Excellent proven personal leadership, collaboration, communication and analytical skills are required.
  • Ability to support cross-functional teams (with strong influencing skills) is required
  • Ability to understand, translate and integrate marketplace data and secondary data tools into actionable insights to drive decision-making is required.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with secondary market research, primary market research, and forecasting is required.  Some knowledge of competitive intelligence data is preferred
  • Demonstrated success in creative problem solving and team partnership is required.
  • Due to the nature of the information reviewed in the role, candidate must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and discretion is required
  • Ability to begin to synthesize disparate data sources to provide an integrated insight view of the business is preferred
  • Experience in New Product Development and Innovation preferred, but not required 
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills are required.
  • Strong project management skills in a deadline-oriented environment are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and analytical tools (Qlik Sense, Tableau, or PowerBI) is required.  Proficiency in analytical tools (SPSS, SAS, R, Python) is preferred.
