The Opportunity

The Associate Director of Learning & Development is a key member of the EU Talent leadership team. In this role you will partner with Wayfair’s EU Leadership to understand and tackle EU specific learning and development opportunities with special attention to leadership and continuous learning initiatives. As the primary contact for Wayfair EU leadership you will be responsible for communicating and gaining buy-in and support for L&D’s global strategic goals. 

Additionally, you will own the strategic vision of Wayfair’s Organizational Capabilities team globally, partnering closely with the Global Head of Talent Development. Your first task in this role will be to build and execute a strategic plan to address our global skills needs. You will partner with leaders across the business, uncover data-driven learning opportunities, and drive high impact, scalable solutions. Success in this role is determined by your ability to effectively analyze talent data, consult with and influence business partners, and implement high value opportunities at scale.  As a global role, it is imperative that you are highly skilled and comfortable in distance collaboration. The ability to be innovative in your approach to learning & development and organizational effectiveness is key. 

What You'll do

  • Own and drive the strategy for the continuous learning globally
  • Lead and manage the L&D EU team
  • Build peer relationships with Talent EU Leadership and the broader EU Leadership team
  • Uncover and address unique geo-specific opportunities and promote the global L&D offering across Europe
  • Ensure the continued evaluation programming to inform success and guide strategic vision 


Specialist Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, MBA, or related field
  • Experience working side-by-side with senior executives
  • Proven track record of strong program or project management, especially in people-related initiatives
  • Knowledge of learning experience design (preferred), instructional design, and adult learning (e.g., ADDIE Model, SAM, Design Thinking, Bloom’s Taxonomy)
  • Strong understanding of The Kirkpatrick Model to measure learning effectiveness
  • Excellent interpersonal team building and collaboration skills 
  • Adaptable and able to make rapid decisions by leveraging disparate data sources
  • Strong customer service focus with a sense of urgency and excellent follow through
