Finance Director, Brazil

Job Description

Microsoft Finance has the responsibility to partner with the Sales and Marketing teams. Microsoft Finance is a truly global finance team and you will be part of the WW community of Subsidiary Controllers that make each other great and build on each other.

The Brazil CFO will partner with the GM and the Brazil Leadership team and be accountable for delivering the business results, driving the Company’s strategy whilst operating within the required governance

The CFO is also part of the Area Finance Extended Leadership team making key decisions around people, processes and business Impact. You will drive the Finance function, which comprises of Financial Control, Business Control and Control & Compliance on top of representing Microsoft externally

Responsibilities

 

People - Create a collaborative environment enabling the team to effectively grow the business with business partners across every Segment of the business. Prioritize management excellence. Build lasting org capability that delivers success by attracting diverse talents locally and retain & develop globally. Ensure business continuity and contingency planning. Develop capabilities to bring deeper internal and external awareness of customers, competitors and industries. Embody inclusion & trust within teams and foster a Microsoft Company Owner mindset. Maximize the potential of our finance organization by working effectively beyond reporting lines and geographies.

 

Prioritization – Be the change agent focused on Go to Market. Scale insights & best practices to simplify, streamline processes across the hub & the area, reduce time spent on local ROB and align to area priorities. Ensure Finance team is supporting area level impact projects vs short term local. Drive longer term planning, set strategies and align resource allocation for maximum return & long-term growth in the hub markets. Ensure FRA, AMR and controllable costs are met on a quarterly basis and deliver the 4 solution areas.

 

Partnership – Create visibility on business opportunities in Brazil and drive investment/go to market proposal jointly with sub + area partners. Engage strategic deals to ensure deal economics across discounting, ECIF, Financing, credit concessions and ensure high quality DWR submissions. Partner with the GM and the LT to ensure topline revenue, customer adds, and consumption growth, by industry based on propensity model. Engage into strategic projects (Datacenters, Partners models) leveraging hub, area and Corp resources. Engage externally with BDMs and Partners in line with these priorities & help land customer wins. Engages with BD, credit services, operations and other support functions (BSO, CELA, Procurement, ROC and HR) to drive strategic priorities in the hub.

 

Protect – Compliance leadership & tone through coaching and direct engagement with the business and the Subsidiary Finance team. Engages Corp Audit, Tax, One Finance, Centers of Excellence and external advisors to anticipate and mitigate emerging statutory, tax and fiduciary risks. Ensure, through direct engagement in strategic deals and/or projects, that compliance remains at the top of teams’ priorities in order to mitigate risk with special focus on preventing corruption, unethical sales, spend management, privacy and concession & discounts. Ensures all hub subsidiaries deliver timely and accurate financial and tax filings. Represent Microsoft in the local market if required

Specialist Experience

  • 5 years of active experience in similar role
  • 10 years of experience in finance / finance leadership positions
  • Experience in Multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles is recommended
  • Fluent in English
  • BA/BS or MBA degree in Finance, Economics, CPA/CA preferred
