Key Account and Stakeholder Specialist- Toronto/ON

Job Description

The candidate must be a highly motivated, self-directed, results driven individual with a proven track record of successful key account management in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical space.

The candidate will:

  • Be responsible for achieving or exceeding objectives for assigned brands within the Rare Blood franchise, including launching and pre-launch landscaping of rare blood therapies (aTTP, CAD).
  • Understand the reimbursement and economics of all products in the Rare Blood landscape and assist in successful reimbursement programs for assigned products in territory.
  • Navigate, understand and influence the reimbursement process at hospital (P&T) and Provincial level, including supporting Provincial formulary activities.
  • Landscaping for future therapeutic launches – identify and influence key reimbursement and clinician stakeholders to prepare market for launches of rare blood therapies
  • Identify and educate physicians on presenting signs and symptoms of patients with aTTP, and communicating the urgent need for referral/treatment at apheresis centers.
  • Manage and monitor key accounts and develop strong relationships with key customers including but not limited to KOLs, treating physicians, nurses, hospital pharmacists, patient associations and patient advocates.
  • Utilize knowledge of physician/KOLs product loyalty/commitment to set appropriate strategies and tactics for each account (e.g. maximize account potential, minimize account risk, drive KOL loyalty etc.) and to evaluate account progress.
  • Identify options for patient infusions and negotiate and/or assist our PSP partner in negotiations with retail and hospital pharmacies, hospital administrators, and apheresis centers in order to ensure timely patient access.
  • Consistently seek new opportunities to drive results that meet unique needs of territory key accounts, have S-G be partner of choice.  
  • Provide in-service training on disease state and Sanofi-Genzyme therapies to all key stakeholders.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of Rare Blood therapies and competitive products (data, studies, outcomes and current promotional messaging).



Specialist Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; MBA or graduate degree a plus.
  • 5 years of direct key account management experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • Excellent technical aptitude and the ability to influence, understand and overcome objections.
  • Demonstrate superb written, verbal and presentation skills.  Proficiency in creating and analyzing spreadsheets, presentation and territory management software.
  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Self-starter; ability to work independently while being collaborative with cross-functional team
  • Possess excellent planning, organizational and implementation skills to manage their activities.
