Baxter are looking to recruit a Category Manager on a permanent basis located in Medolla. This role is part of the Global Hardware & Third Party Finished Goods group, reporting to the Director Hardware & Finished Goods Category Management who is based in Germany.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will identify, draft, align and drive proactive global hardware and Non-EE commodity strategies for Baxter with a clear focus on sourcing metrics that runs from quality improvement
  • You will be responsible for cost savings, payment term improvements, supplier relationship management, dual source strategy development and implementation, low cost country sourcing, cross functional project management up to service productivity
  • You will utilize the existing process and tools and own experience / expertise to solve problems and develop / execute objectives
  • Facilitate achievement of short-term and long-term business goals


Specialist Experience

  • 5-7 years’ experience in Procurement/Engineering/Quality/Supply Chain
  • In-depth knowledge of Hardware (EE and Non-EE )
  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA desirable
  • Purchasing or Supply Chain certification desirable
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, pro-active personality
  • Strong business process and strategic thinking
  • Strong Negotiation skills
  • Sound financial skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and engage senior management of current and potential suppliers
  • Ability to communicate in a professional way with internal stakeholders (senior management) to ensure the necessary buy-in for the sourcing/savings projects
  • Experienced in Supply Risk Management, Low Cost Country Sourcing and Design to Cost
  • Used to work in a Matrix Organisation
  • Good oral, written communications and presentation skills
  • Strong project management skills – able to handle multiple project simultaneously
  • Knowledge of six sigma / black belt methodologies is desirable
  • Multi-cultural mindset
  • Language skills required, Italian and English
