Vendor Manager, Fresh and Prime Now

Job Description

Amazon team is looking for an experienced Vendor Manager (VM) to join our Fresh/Prime Now business units. You will play a key role in helping us achieve our growth objectives by delivering a step change in performance, improving the customer offer, expanding product selection and deepening relationships with some of our largest suppliers in the UK. We expect the VM to be a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven ability to negotiate complex business terms, develop and manage relationships, drive results and demonstrate competency with business and financial analytics. The VM must be an effective leader and communicator in working with some of Amazon’s most important partners and vendors, as well as with internal cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for retail and a high level of flexibility and commitment.

A successful Vendor Manager must be able to:

· Manage relationships with some of our largest vendors and set and drive strategic priorities such as Lifecycle Management planning, profitability, cross functional marketing planning, and optimizing logistics set ups to deliver lower landed costs
· Plan and deliver annual and ongoing terms negotiation improvements
· Monitor and research industry and competitive trends to make sure that Amazon is offering the best for the customer.
· Develop strategic selection plans for our Health and Personal Care categories
· Build and manage promotional strategy for your vendors, deliver product differentiation for customers and analyze and communicate vendor performance.
· Seek out ways to automate & simplify manual processes in order to improve productivity



Specialist Experience


Basic Qualifications
· Professional experience including commercial negotiation, gained within major organizations in e-commerce or retail, key account management or consulting environment
· Outstanding analytical skills, as demonstrated through prior roles held, and experience in P&L management, planning and forecasting.
· Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas, with ability to audit and correctly correct when issues arise.
· Demonstrable experience leading and managing a team
· Proven ability to influence others in a business setting
· Strong commercial acumen, a business focused way of thinking and a strong hands-on, results-driven mentality
· Strong communication skills (written and verbal), specifically excellent English communication skills
· University degree from top ranked institution


Preferred Qualifications
· Excellent marketing skills, a feel for customer needs, as well as a high degree of innovative prowess
· Excellent knowledge of Excel and database work, with experience in SQL as a plus
· MBA from leading business school beneficial
· Commercial/ Buying experience
