Regional Materials Program Manager

As a Materials Program Manager, you will be responsible for material planning, execution, and process improvements in our supply chain. Your experience in the areas of supply chain, material planning, and fulfillment will be critical for optimizing the material and inventory required to fulfill compute hardware and technology requirements at our global data centers. You will work closely with new product introduction (NPI), Supply Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Commodity Management, Contract Manufacturing, and Suppliers to develop and oversee the execution of the material plans that directly support Google's rapidly growing hardware infrastructure.

In this role, you will help ensure volume ramp of new technology, and ramp down of old technology. Additionally, you will manage the supply and demand matching reviews and supply commits for your product(s) and/or commodities, optimizing inventory levels to minimize stockouts, excess, and obsolescence (E&O) and implement best practices to ensure on time delivery. You will also use your analytical skills to establish and drive metrics, partnering with cross-functional teams to enable tools, systems, and processes towards greater operational efficiency and scalability.

  • Manage and provide guidance to APAC-based contract manufacturers' material management related performances to ensure continuity of supply and efficient communication with Global Materials Management team.
  • Ensure material management, procurement, production scheduling and input into capacity plans to meet Google forecast with optimization based on capacity constraints and Google priorities by products provided by Global Materials Management team.
  • Drive inventory management to meet targeted service level and turns. Act as the focal point of buffer strategy implementation and shortage escalation.
  • Establish performance management process/metrics for material management activities and provide weekly executive summary. Gather materials delivery performance scorecard metrics from internal Materials Management team and provide input to the larger performance reviews.
  • Be the focal point to help communicate and align the strategies. Drive material management and procurement process improvements and reporting standardization. Act as the focal point for root causing the material shortage and procurement issues.


Specialist Experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in supply chain management within a functional role in supply planning, fulfillment, operations management, inventory management, and procurement.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of Supply Chain Planning systems and processes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or MBA with an emphasis in Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience with spreadsheet software, SQL, and scripting.
  • Experience driving process improvement projects from idea to implementation and adoption.
  • Experience in hardware product supply chain delivery through the entire lifecycle.
  • Ability to successfully work across multiple levels of the organization with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and a problem-solving skills.
