A Day in the Life

As a Project Manager in our R&D Department you will be responsible for the execution and management of R&D sustain projects.

You will oversee the planning and implementation, lead technical decisions and track projects while delivering goals, in time and quality, under project constrains.

As part of your day to day you will:

  • Manage R&D Projects from concept phase to complete transfer to production
  • Coordinate the development, verification, and documentation of the R&D projects according to regulatory and quality standards and design control systems.
  • Define project requirements.
  • Take technical decisions in collaboration with functional groups.
  • Develop and execute project plans to satisfy milestones, budget and deliverables deadlines.
  • Responsible for the execution of R&D tasks related to NPI and sustaining projects.
  • Lead design change projects end to end from feasibility to implementation in the field.
  • Lead matrix activities with Regulation, Clinical, Engineering, DQA, OPS-QA.
  • Create and maintain DHF per product.
  • Track and communicate project status, plans, risks, timelines, and budget on a weekly or ad-hoc basis.
  • Prepare for and chair project meetings, coordinate and prioritize R&D cross-function progress, and generate periodic progress reports.
  • Participate in risk and hazard management activities, design verification and validation and design transfer.

Specialist Experience

  • BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Biomedical Engineering
  • 3 years+ experience in design, development and project management of medical devices.
  • Experienced in applying various project management tools for tracking development projects against planned budgets and timelines.
  • Solid understanding of medical device design controls, standards, and regulations including ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820.
  • Strong communication skills, great inter-personal skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Project management qualification - an advantage.
  • Master’s Degree in engineering or MBA – an advantage.
