We are seeking an Analytical Lead to join the team in Sydney, Australia, who is passionate about data and believes in its power to shape marketing strategy and tactics. Individuals in this role have strong analytical, problem-solving, storytelling and consultative skills to bring deep insights to our customers.   • Generate innovative, compelling, intuitive and trustworthy analytics that trigger new ideas and illuminate business potential for our clients and partners. This includes, but is not limited to: 
    • Curate, model and analyse data from multiple source (e.g., 1st party data, vertical competitive benchmarks, third-party data, etc.) that tell the best story for clients and Microsoft Advertising. 
    • Participate in client meetings and pitches, contributing sophisticated analytics and insights, weaved into a compelling story that can influence business strategy and shift perceptions.
    • Develop thought leadership content to drive strategic client conversations and help position Microsoft Advertising’s unique value proposition. 
    • Develop forecasting and marketplace insights for prioritized customers and/or new campaigns, for a specific vertical or marketplace.  
    • Utilize innovative analytical models and data visualization to support key campaign strategies and highlight the value of Microsoft Advertising feature sets.
  • Develop expertise in selected industry verticals and their marketing methods, focusing on how consumers interact with digital media across various channels. Primary areas of expertise to be gained include consumer behavior, compete strategies and seasonality shifts.
  • Collaborate effectively with partner (sales, marketing) teams to deliver solutions based on client obsession. Share best practices and drive adoption of self-service and one-to-many resources/tools. 
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the foundational data available within the Microsoft Advertising platform (e.g., marketplace, advertiser, and audience metrics), as well as the broader Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer by delivering feedback on our core platform, service offerings, and sales motions.
  • You will also be a key contributor to evolving our analytics capabilities by leveraging your own expertise and funneling feedback from the market to internal teams responsible for capability development.   




Specialist Experience

  • Experience utilizing analytical tools to turn massive, dynamic datasets into insights.
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication and presentation skills across all levels – customers, partners, stakeholders.
  • Depth of experience in analytics, graphical representations of quantitative data, thought leadership, and consultative sales skills with a knack for storytelling and turning data into insights.
  • Knowledge of and ability to quickly learn the nuances of predictive modeling and data clustering/classification techniques.
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses to a mix of both technical and non-technical partners and customers in a compelling, structured and story led approach
  • Passion for harnessing the power of data to drive customer satisfaction and revenue.
  • Comfort working in an agile environment and thriving amid ambiguity.
  • Infectious sense of enthusiasm, fun, and imagination associated with a group committed to developing top-class analytics experiences
  • Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) preferred 


Required Qualifications

  • 4-5 years in account management/analytics role within online advertising, 2+ years of professional quantitative experience focusing on analysis and interpretation of data
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: BingAds API, third-party attribution methodologies, development and curation of research methods, SQL, PowerBI (or similar), DAX, R, PowerPivot.
  • Ability to travel 25% (domestic and international air-travel required)
