Job Description

What you will do

The Account Executive - Construction is responsible for the sale of HVAC Controls offerings to contractors, designers and consultants in the construction industry. This role will be responsible for the Ottawa-Gatineau territory.


How you will do it

Promote the Johnson Controls value proposition to construction community by providing business and technical solutions.


Build and manage long term customer relationships/partnerships with assigned accounts.


Be engaged and responsible for customer satisfaction and loyalty while working in conjunction with operations partners.


Utilize sales tools to plan and document sales progress as well as increase business opportunities across all HVAC lines of business in assigned accounts.

Seek to expand the depth and breadth of HVAC controls offerings sold within assigned accounts.


Actively participate as a member on select account teams on key and target customer accounts.


May lead the account team (market customer leader) on assigned target and key accounts where significant growth opportunities exist and more robust expertise is required from others to solidify the opportunity.


Specialist Experience

What we look for


  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business, engineering, or related discipline required.  
  • A minimum of five years of progressive field sales experience.  At least three years successfully selling in the HVAC/building automation system industry.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and quality in business. Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in both English and French is required.



MBA preferred.
