Position Purpose


The Plant Manager, leads and drives the execution of all operational initiatives in order to meet business targets, Including delivering an outstanding customer experience, providing a safe and healthy workplace to employees, engaging and developing employees, and meeting all the financial commitments. All these enabled by a continuous improvement culture.

Encourage the execution of Operational Excellence strategy in the Veracruz terminal ( Import terminal 1.8- 2.2 myl of tons per year ).

Principal Accountabilities
25% Risk Management
  • Implement/maintain/Operate aligned to EHS/Food safety policies and procedures, follow up to audits and action plans.
  • Execution and follow up to safety initiatives, Life campaign, Focus on Life, Critical 5, SIF Assessment, Lifesavers.
  • Leading local committees.
  • Support and follow up to ISPS Code (International Ship and Port facility Security)
20% Operational Effectiveness
  • Calculate and prepare Budget, executing spent looking for efficiencies and operative cost savings.
  • Continuous Improvement, implement best practices to improve efficiencies in our operational metrics.
  • Keep shrink results aligned with goals projected
  • Technical support in operation, quality to commercial team and customers.
  • Support Operation in third parties port terminals (Quality, inspections, shrinks, etc) 
15% Reliability Excellence
  • Ensure reliability process by implementation of Cargill policies and procedures related.
  • Follow up and control of plant expenses including maintenance cost
  • Keep an effective communication with commercial team for shutdowns and events.
20% Additional and Specific Responsibilities.
  • Participation in the Business leadership team, supporting and promoting decisions taken
  • Leading temporary one national committee assigned,
  • Be the Cargill legal representative for Government Authorities and Organizations:
  • SAT/Customs, following Laws, requirements, meetings  as Recinto Fiscalizado.
  • SAGARPA/SENASICA. Requirements, meetings
  • Port Master. Meetings, requirements.             
  • APIVER: Veracruz Integral Port Administration: Follow up to Meetings, requirements, under our concession contract.  Operational and safety committees.
  • Active participation in ATEPV Asociación de Terminales del Puerto de Veracruz. (Terminal association from Veracruz Port)
15% Capital Effectiveness
  • Planning and execute Base / Non-Base projects,
  • Looking for implement projects with payback
  • Ethic and guiding principles.
  • Leading and encourage to the team to execute aligned to those principles.
5% Talent Management
  • Encourage the local Training program
  • Follow up Engagement survey and Focus Group action plans.
  • Promote and support Inclusion and diversity initiatives


Specialist Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanic or Industrial or Food/MBA desired
  • 5 years in Plant Operation coordination, EHS implementation, Reliability and Project management
  • English proficiency
  • Leading teams (80 or more people)
  • Experience with six sigma, process improvements initiatives
  • Handling of grain, Quality (Grading, mycotoxins and preservation desired)
  • Technical knowledge in conveyors (desired)
  • Ability to travel 15%

  • Negotiation / Customer service skills
