Commercial Project Management team (CPM) is a sales function within Vestas Northern & Central Europe, with a dotted organisational line to regional sales. CPM is responsible for managing all aspects of commercial project management for sales opportunities including internal sales planning, co-ordinating and managing commercial project business cases. The CPM team manage internal commercial project activities for the entire portfolio of sales opportunities and collaborate with sales teams to support and ensure that the sales opportunities of each project follow internal sales processes, task deliverables and adhere to Vestas policies and governance.

Your main responsibility will be to manage all aspects of internal sales planning, coordination, and execution from decision to pursue to close-out of sales opportunity. This include internal stakeholder management throughout the sales process, interfacing with individual sales team members, subject matter experts (SMEs), and Business Unit Management. In addition, in close cooperation with the sales teams, your responsibilities will cover to:

  • Ensure that each sales opportunity follows internal sales processes, task deliverables and corporate governance 
  • Coordinate sales approach to determine best customer solutions including identifying optimal product offering, scope interfaces, transport, site construction, service offering, warranties packages, etc. 
  • Manage portfolio of sales opportunities in Vestas, leveraging on a team selling approach to provide commercial solutions.
  • Develop, prepare, update and review sales capture plans, business case material, and CRM/ERP system maintenance for project sales opportunities
  • Manage internal deliverables that exceed customer expectations, while maximising value for Vestas at the same time. 
  • Partner with sales managers and sales teams to drive the business case process. Tasks include project analysis, value identification, project cost optimisation and documentation, RFx analysis, delivery of input to sales managers and negotiation planning.
  • Translate and migrate customer specifications into project work breakdown structure, implement agreed pricing and commercial terms into Vestas CRM and ERP systems
  • Arrange team kick-off meeting, follow up through firm order prepare invoicing to customer, hand-over to Vestas construction team and arrange lessons learnt 
  • Support preparation of negotiations with Customers and internal business functions to ensure compliance with the commercial risk assessment process.
  • Remain updated on market regulations and industry trends which affect the market and customers business, including; local content requirements, permitting, grid connections and other relevant issues that could affect Vestas’ business 

 

Specialist Experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Sales, Finance or Project Management. MBA or similar preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with minimum two of the following skill sets as they relate to sales: technical sales, commercial customer communications, economic and financial project engineering or project management knowledge.
  • +2 years of experience in the energy industry or complex capital sales environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence in understanding commercial terms, capture planning and sales strategy, balancing customer needs, competitive environment and business profitability
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed cost, quality and schedule commitments in complex project environment.
  • Strong organizational and influence skills with demonstrated ability to project manage deals, e.g. via certification in PRINCE2, PMP or similar.
  • Advanced knowledge of the MS Office suite. Ideal candidates have experience from SAP C4C CRM, SAP project builder, Primavera, SmartSheet or equivalent systems.

  • Ability to perform under high pressure and in a dynamic work environment managing multiple deliverables for multiple projects.
  • Ability to understand technical issues and complex project documentation, and to translate customer requirements and needs into a compelling Vestas value proposition.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to present business cases and comparisons for internal and external presentation.
  • Communication - strong verbal and written English communication skills required (level of communication within company – with team, stakeholders, all levels, etc.). 
  • Innovation - Analysis, evaluation leading to new processes/techniques or knowledge development.
