A member of the Australian & New Zealand Diabetes Care Leadership Team.  Based in Auckland, New Zealand, this is an Individual Contributor role responsible for setting and leading the business and strategic direction for Roche Diabetes Care New Zealand, in alignment with the Australian, Regional and Group Strategies. Developing and implementing sales and marketing plans to achieve the short-and long-term business objectives, as well as developing and maximizing business opportunities. This includes responsibility for all business operations, main financial goals as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities:

Leading strategy execution
Develops and implements local plans/strategies that are aligned with the broader Australian, Regional & Global strategy
Set strategic objectives and direction that helps to create values for sustainable & aggressive business growth
Contributes to Australian, Regional and Global strategy by providing input about local external environment and customers
Works collaboratively to adapt Australian, Regional and Global strategy to local healthcare environment
Leads the business to optimize sales and profits
Formulates and executes business and sales plans, product launch plans and marketing plans
Knows the local economic, market and industry trends and uses trend data to maximize opportunities and minimize risk exposure
Institutionalizes changes in process, external relationships and business models
Recommends capital expenditures, investments and business expansion, coordinate management of projects and activities
Create business development and partnering opportunities within New Zealand. Build competitive knowledge through organizing and participating in local events in the market.
Proactively shape the Diabetes Care business environment in New Zealand, defend and improve Roche market position and depth of market access by developing strong, trust-based relationships with external partners, customers and key stakeholders
Market Development & Warehouse Management
A key goal of this role is to establish a sales and distribution business model in New Zealand
Manage and support distribution of diabetes care products via a 4PL distribution partner
Ensure that appropriate Key Performance Indicators are in place with distribution partner to regularly monitor their performance and achievements. Includes quality, regulatory and compliance measures
Delivering financial commitments
Propose and implement annual targets and budget for Diabetes Care New Zealand business
Delivers financial commitments to optimize short term performance and long term growth while ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies
Appropriately allocates resources to align with Australian, Regional and Global strategies
Conducts financial reviews to monitor business performance
Ensures the appropriate Supply Chain processes are in place and that Roche Quality and SHE standards are met
Establishes appropriate budget goals aligned with external marketplace and internal strategy
Enhances and ensures financial forecasting accuracy
Shaping external environment
Represents Diabetes Care New Zealand and the Roche Group’s interests with important external stakeholders as appropriate, e.g. government and regulatory officials, health authorities, industry associations, media, key opinion leaders, physicians, patients, and advocates
Develops strategies/plans to achieve appropriate access goals including pricing and reimbursement
Strengthens and improves the image of Roche and the health care industry
Integrating the matrix through vertical and horizontal alignment
Prioritize objectives and ensure alignment with Australian, Regional and Global priorities
Establishes and works within appropriate governance and compliance models
Institutionalizing a culture of compliance and high performance
Communicates and sets the example to portray compliance is integral to business success and achieving competitive advantage in the marketplace
Establishes and monitors the financial and business controls and processes to follow internal and external rules and regulations for or within the legal entity
Ensures that all relevant Company Policies and Procedures are adhered to
Ensure sound business practices and compliance with business ethics
Ensure robust processes are in place to support our compliance efforts and that appropriate actions are taken in cases of non-compliance.

Qualifications/Experience:

The ideal candidate should process the following qualifications, experience and skills:

University Degree/ MBA or other relevant Post Graduate qualification
10+ years related Local/Regional business experience at a senior leadership level preferably in Medical Device or Consumer Healthcare industry
Strong financial, marketing and sales acumen. Ability to lead and think strategically and yet hands-on operationally
Strong knowledge of socio-economic environment and market dynamics. Understand competitive threats, strengths and weaknesses of the organization to manage priorities and develop optimal response
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English.
