Dell is seeking experienced analytics manager to lead the project of Integrated Demand Model (IDM).   This forecast model is used to drive key business planning decisions for the Consumer and Small Business for European countries.   In this position, one must ingest multiple leading indicator variables to generate a business forecast that will accurately predict multiple targets for the business, including financial goal attainment. This winning candidate will join a collaborative team that must work cross functionally to deliver model updates and outputs on a quarterly basis. 

The candidate will be managing the project to build and refresh statistical models, verifying the accuracy of them and engaged in day to day operations with business stakeholders. Also the candidate will be producing ad-hoc analysis using scientific methodology to answer key business questions such as campaign efficiency measurement and investigation of abnormal sales trend to identify root causes.

Key responsibilities

  • Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of people and teams
  • Manage the process and quality of data collected for model build and refresh
  • Present the result of quarterly Revenue forecasting models across functional team members and stakeholders
  • Interpret the result of Times Series, ARIMA, machine learning algorithm and etc to build and continue to enhance the forecast model.
  • Variance analysis for all the forecast models to help business understand the root causes behind the variation. Use the learning to improve the overall forecasting model and process.
  • Proactively anticipate and prevent problems. Devise and facilitate business buy-in, make recommendations and guide implementation of corrective and/or preventive actions for complex business issues that cross organizational boundaries and are unclear in nature.
  • Serve as a project leader for mentoring analyst colleagues and serving as a cross-functional analytics consultant to business stakeholders and team members.
  • Present quantitative information, findings and business recommendations to various levels of stakeholders through visual displays.


Specialist Experience

  • MBA or MS in Math, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in designing statistical model based on Time Series, Statistical Modeling, Predictive Analytics, and Machine Learning theories
  • Experience articulating business questions and using mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data by translating analysis results into business recommendations.
  • +6 years of business experience in marketing, consulting or project management in a technology/media company and +2 years of hands on experience in building statistical model or analytics field
  • Good knowledge in statistical theories: Time series, Regression, Mathematical statistics, Probability, Bayesian theory, and Sampling Theory
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Great MS Office skill

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with programing languages; R, SAS, and Python
  • Ability to break down technical concepts into simple terms to present to diverse, technical, and non-technical audiences
