In order to efficiently scale and continue to delight customers, Gartner is investing in ‘Research Analyst Lab’ located in our Gurgaon Center of Excellence. Analysts on this exciting team will be aligned with Gartner’s most visionary experts to directly help clients by writing research and delivering compelling interactions.

An Associate Research Analyst aligned with the Energy and Utility (E&U) Industries team will conduct research and analysis covering critical issues, applications and capabilities of the industry and related technologies/vendors.   An Associate Research Analyst aligned with the E & U Industries team will initially be engaged in the development and maintenance of vendor research solutions, such as surveys and databases.  This will provide a solid base for the learning required  to advise our research and advisory clients, worldwide, through published research, interactions  with clients (Inquiry), teleconferences, and client meetings,

As a Gartner analyst you must be a highly motivated, organized, critical thinker, with an ability to deliver to fixed time-bound commitments, with high quality and rapidly evolve with changing demands. To support these conversations you will research markets, practices and trends and produce written research for Gartner clients to read and apply. You will collaborate with peers and become a published author on showcasing your own thought-leading research, growing your knowledge and your brand as a Gartner Analyst.

What you’ll do:

  • Create, maintain and analyze surveys and related databases covering several different vendor markets within the energy and utility industry
  • Networking with Gartner clients, vendors and analysts, evaluating and analyzing information and participating in Research Meetings and other primary or secondary research methods which comprise the Gartner research process.
  • Define and conduct research in specific areas and create written research, to set timelines.
  • Produce impactful written and presentation analysis for our Energy and Utility CIO client constituency.
  • Provide actionable advice through compelling client interactions within your coverage areas via teleconference, video conference or webinar and event presentations.
  • Credibly represent Gartner research methodology, strategies and positions effectively at senior executive level.
  • Provide support to the sales organization to renew and develop business. Advice prospective and existing clients via telephone and video-enabled teleconference or at Gartner events. Demonstrate Gartner research value.
  • Actively collaborate with peers and contribute to establishing company research positions.
  • Work with vendors in both the production and verification of E & U research and keep informed on vendor solutions and offerings through attending vendor briefings



Specialist Experience

  • Graduate + MBA from leading A & B-schools (BE/B.Tech from Grade A engineering colleges (will be added advantage)
  • 3+ years’ experience working within a technology or business field in a related discipline.
  •  Excellent analyst role skills: analytical, writing skills, presentation, and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to manage research projects
  • Subject matter familiarity in the utilities market, with the ability to demonstrate understanding of the core business applications and opportunities in that market.
  • A demonstrable ability to develop and work with data gathering, management and visualization tools, ideally in a primary research context
  • Self-motivation and the ability to deliver research projects to schedule
  • Ambitious, eager to learn about new technologies both inside and outside their field of expertise and willing to keep their finger on the pulse of the changing IT landscape to meet the demands of our customers.
