Country Business Unit Manager Power Generation Services

Job Description

Siemens is looking for a Country Business Unit Manager for Power Generation Services, to be hired with a permanent contract, for its premises in Genova.  He/she will be responsible to guarantee the profitability of all the execution and service activities of our Power Generation Services in the Sub-Region South West Europe and in the Italian market.

Country Business Unit Manager assumes responsibility for Sub-Region South West Europe of Power Generation Services and accountability for the profit and loss within the Business Unit. Management across all functional areas including sales, marketing, engineering, human resources, project management, finance for segments. Reporting directly to the head quarter head and the Power Generation Services Head Italy. Disciplinary responsibility about 60 employees in Italy.

What will you manage in the short term?


  • Strategy


Formulate, influence and implement strategies for growth and improve market share in our selected markets. Ensure that a detailed and sustainable sales strategy exists and is implemented into the Business Unit. Derive strategic direction for the business and set suitable goals to achieve this strategy. Develop and execute a sales strategy in the region – create growth.


  • Finance


Responsible for strategic business planning and setting of appropriate budgets. Accountable for profit and loss in BU. Maintain forecast integrity and release management reports.


  • People Management


Effectively manages individuals, functions and teams. Creates successful cross-functional/cross-divisional/cross-national teams or strategic alliance. Effectively delegates responsibility and/or authority to subordinates with clear guidelines and directions. Obtains high performance from employees by developing a strong sense of professionalism, accountability and pride within the division.


  • Resource Management


Responsible to ensure that the BU is properly resourced with the right skills to fulfill business requirements. Participate in budget, business, and headcount planning as necessary.


  • Operations Management


Take responsibility of the project implementation and deliver outstanding project results. Project Management Overview, receiving feedback on the delivery of projects. Identification and defining of risk mitigation strategies by assessing current issues and potential risks and assist in implementing preventative/corrective measures. Ensure that best practice business processes and procedures are documented and implemented in accordance with Siemens guidelines and policies.


  • Customer Relations


Engage in senior level engagement with customers and partners to support sales and implementation. Sourcing new business opportunities and new customers with the aim of gaining majority market share. Keep up to date with local market trends, customer requirements, compare to local requirements. Represent Siemens at industry events, trade shows, and conventions.

And what about the medium-long term?

The digitalization will have a big impact on service in the next years and, as Country Business Unit Manager, he/she will have a very important role in guiding this important technological and cultural change.   

Specialist Experience

A candidate with the following features:

  • Knowledge of business processes, including LOA processes, budget processes and are a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership position with a proven track record with significant focus on strategy and/or change management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working within the oil & gas or energy industries with focus controls or digitalization.
  • Bsc/Btech Electrical Engineering. Supplementary business management qualification (MBA) would be advantageous.
  • Ability to create impact in his region and quickly deliver results, intercultural sensitivity, strong customer orientation, ability to think strategically.
  • Strong negotiation skills, willing to travel within SWE region.
  • People Management including mentoring, development, IR topics, and performance management.
  • Experience in dealing with diverse people including, levels of seniority, cultures, cross boarder exposure.
  • Must be strategically focused and understand collaboration within matrix organizations.
  • Must be energizing and Motivating.
  • Fluent in Italian and English, German would be beneficial.
