The Business Support Associate is a critical role for supporting the VP & GM of the Diagnostics & Genomics Group (DGG) Sales and Field Operations, helping him and his leadership team to reach the highest level of business efficiency. On a daily basis you will be part of and interact with a highly dynamic global team with a mutual goal to improve the quality of life and enable personalized medicine, striving for the highest commercial excellence. Job Responsibilities:

Reporting to the DGG Global VP & GM of Sales and Field Operations, your key responsibilities will be:

  1. Business support: (70%)

    1. Collect inputs and prepare for review of business proposals, i.e. contracts, discount requests in collaboration with Sales region managers, field finance and solutions unitto expedite decision making and proper approvals.Typical examples are:

      1. Price per Slide proposals

      2. Contracts

      3. Agreements (unilateral & bilateral)

      4. Discount requests

    2. Prepare for business reviews and meetings in collaboration with Sales region managers, Commercial Development and Sales Excellence team

      1. Monthly DGG Executive Leadership Team (ELT) calls

      2. Quarterly DGG Executive Leadership Team ELT meetings

      3. Business reviews with Division President and Division Controller

    3. Prepare Sales and Field staff events (calendar, agenda/content, minutes)

      1. Monthly field leadership staff calls

      2. Quarterly field leadership staff F2F meetings

      3. Monthly Solution Unit calls

    4. Support for business analysis:

      1. Customer history reports

      2. Trend analysis (regional/global/customer behavior and acquisition)

      3. Conduct research, collect and analyze data to prepare reports and documents

    5. Review customer travel requests and iProcurement requests prior VP&GM approval


  2. Communication plan development and support: (20%)

    1. Bi-annual field webcast content development (and planification with Executive Assistant)

    2. Town hall and coffee talk content development

    3. Regular communication content development (and planification with Executive Assistant)

      1. Periodic team newsletter

      2. Ad-hoc general messages

    4. Ad-hoc customer communication content development (KOL, customer meetings...)

    5. Representation in the relevant social networks of DGG Global Sales and Field Operations VP&GM


  3. Ownership and organization of the team agenda(2%)

    1. Annual team calendar

    2. Team SharePoint for storage of all the relevant documents


  4. People/ Organization related support (in collaboration with Business HR manager) (5%):

    1. Produce regular HR/demographic reports of the field team to help decision in terms of:

      1. Skills gaps

      2. Training needs and requirements

      3. Recruitments

    2. Annual rewards planning preparation:

      1. IPB & RSU budget distribution

      2. PFF formalization

    3. DGG Field Org. Chart maintenance


  5. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned (3%)



Specialist Experience

  • University degree in Business, Biology or Engineering. Ideally Master of Sciences (biology/life science) level completed with an MBA.

  • No experience required (campus hires welcome). 1 or 2 years' experience in sales excellence, sales operations, sales management, strategic planning, or business development would be a plus but not mandatory for the right candidate.

  • Must have strong interest in the molecular diagnostic, genomics life sciences industry or other comparable healthcare field.

  • Must possess strong presentation and sales skills, be self-motivated, open and focused on the value of the planning process.

  • Ability to coordinate the activities of cross-functional teams and provide project management support.

  • Socially aware with the ability to establish strong working relationships both inside and outside the company.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion. Ability to make decisions and solve problems.

  • Ability to work with high degree of independence while managing upward communication to executive leadership teams and management.

  • Innate intellectual curiosity and proactive nature.

  • Strong business, analytical, statistical and data-driven mind-set; detail oriented work style.

  • Ability to conduct and/or analyze research related to sustainability, consumers, industries and competitors.
