What You’ll Be Doing
 
 
You will join the Pega CoE's PMO Team within CIBC’s Personal and Small Business Banking Technology group where you will be working alongside members of an Agile Project delivery team driving transformational change across a large retail portfolio. As a Senior IT PM, you’ll lead teams of stakeholders and business partners, work with Scrum Masters and Product owners to ensure Waterfall and Agile projects of all sizes are completed on time and on budget. You will provide guidance to others and manage a portfolio of projects through sprint execution, and end-to-end delivery. You’ll use your expertise in Project Management and Scrum as well as skills in conflict resolution and continuous improvement, to navigate your projects, enable team success and deliver an improved client experience. 
 
How You’ll Succeed 
 
  • Project Management – Outline program goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs and manage a matrix resourced team. Help create a resource plan that ensures all stakeholders have a voice on the project. Assess the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team, and provide guidance that will continuously improve the project plan. Manage programs and budget allocation. Evaluate issues/mitigate risks and interpret variances for business sponsor/executive along with recommendations.
  • Agile Expertise – Be an Agile champion while helping implement Scrum methodologies and values. Facilitate a range of Scrum activities, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospective Meetings, and Backlog Refinement. Actively promote Agile and Scrum framework across the business to enable quick, effective, and meaningful transformation. Through your servant leadership, remove impediments and the team understand the difference between "being Agile" and "doing Agile".
  • Collaboration – Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services. Work closely with team, project team members and stakeholders to ensure project success, and with development teams and Product Owners to discover and implement Scrum best practices. Communicate key updates to stakeholders, and balance their demands as needed. Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs. Help create a resource plan that ensures all stakeholders have a voice on the project. Assess the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team, and provide guidance that will continuously improve the project plan.
  • Relationship Management – Work closely with clients and business partners to develop, test, and implement application program. Impact and improve the business by advising application owners on the technology possibilities and requirements.   

 

 

Specialist Experience

  • You can demonstrate experience in Project Management methodology, principles, and tools, within a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager with a strong track record of successful project delivery on an enterprise scale. You also have experience using Agile techniques (User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games) and other approaches discussed in the Agile space (XP, Kanban, Crystal, and FDD). It is an asset if you have a PMP certification, CSM certification, and/or Scrum Master certification.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, MBA and/or a related field of study. It’s an asset if you have a CSM or PMP Designation.
