Sr Manager, Business Analytics

Job Description


Position Summary

The role of Manager, Business Analytics is to understand and provide in-depth analysis of business and market data. This position supports the country by strategically assessing and delivering critical information (KPIs) and data driven recommendations on both, periodic and ad-hoc basis. Additionally, this position takes a leadership role with strategic integration of sales data perspective into market development and management process. Through consultative initiatives, brings forth current market data and customer issues while interfacing with the field and management teams; must be capable of interpreting and monitoring the industry for anticipated market trends and customer needs.


This position is accountable for all business systems administration, integration and coordination with global & International analytics team for data management and reporting needs. This position must be able to manage develop, implement, administer, educate and enforce compliant utilization of CRM as well as any additional reporting platform currently in place in order to support sales management. Implements and drives data strategies to improve data quality and maintain high quality and integrity in all business databases.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Provides business analytics support for the Commercial, Access & Business Operations and Leadership teams.
  • Ensure Business Analytics strategy for Colombia is fully aligned with International and Global principles, guidelines and definitions.
  • Ensure metrics reported are consistent and meet changing business needs.
  • Responds to report requests from local management.
  • Design and implement new standard metrics to measure the performance of the salesforce and market effectiveness.
    • Call activity reports.
    • Reach and Frequency reports.
    • Customer Segmentation and impact report.
    • Alex CRM
    • Dashboard of general management
  • Drive the development, preparation and distribution of weekly, monthly and quarterly sales and KPI reports.
    • Release Weekly KPI and Probability Forecast reports for local and International leadership team.
    • Provide data for Quarterly for Executive Business Reviews.
  •  Responsible ALEX CRM.
    • Responsible for data quality and integrity within the market to ensure consistent reporting of metrics.
    • Receives support from the International and/or Global Analytics teams when implementing specific workflow or validation rules to ensure data quality and integrity.
    • Business Process Subject Matter Expert. Maintain expertise on local market workflow to ensure system alignment with Region’s business practices.
    • Implements global system standards provided by Corporate and International leadership team.
    • Provide training programs to all users.
    • Develops and implements appropriate enhancements that adapt to regional needs.
  • Develop and implement along with local team’s improvement plans to address Sales Force Effectiveness needs (segmentation, targeting and Sales Force mapping).
  • Support the decision making process related to sales force management.
  • Incentives plans management & review per Q (RSM, RAM)
  • Market research for new business opportunities
  • Leadership with all launching process in Colombia according with International guidelines


Specialist Experience


  • At least 8 years of experience in progressive roles in Business Insights, Market data, Sales or Marketing. 
  • Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology commercial experience
    • 5+ years analytical and reporting experience; preferably in Healthcare industry
  • Strong Project Management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent business acumen including analysis, critical reasoning, strategic thinking, data interpretation, and business problem solving ability.
    • Advanced Excel and Access skills
  • Must have excellent business acumen including analysis, critical reasoning, strategic thinking, data interpretation, and business problem solving ability.
  • Must have the ability to obtain critical information from various data sources.
  • Must possess good knowledge of Healthcare Management and Pharma Compliance.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of customer relations and product
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to handle/integrate multiple channels of feedback
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory.



  • A Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Information Technology, Business Administration, Industrial Engineer.
  • MBA is a strong plus
  • Informatics related academic study- university background or relevant combination of training, experience & knowledge
