About the Role

 

We are looking for an individual who has good people management skills, strong operational and analytical skills, and a strategic business sense. In this role, you will manage an operations team of approximately 5 members, and report directly to the General Manager. This is a key position that can have a big impact on the business and change the way people move in Peru. We are currently operating in 3 cities in the country and are always looking to expand our footprint through new and creative opportunities!

 

This role calls for a combination of savvy analytics and ability to lead a high performing team in a fast paced environment.  This person will lead a team focused on attracting and engaging high quality riders and drivers by enabling strong onboarding, incentives, and retention processes.  Additionally, you must demonstrate a strong analytical ability to provide guidance to the team on how to improve the user experience within the city by ensuring a balanced and efficient marketplace. This position requires multi-faceted talents as well as strong people skills as you will need to lead and develop a team of highly analytical and driven individuals.  

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with the General Manager to help define Peru’s strategic & team goals as well as develop the plan to execute them
  • Work closely with your team to delve deep into complex data and discover opportunities for improvement and untapped sources of growth. You will create innovative solutions to fix these issues and further understand marketplace dynamics and the forces that drive our riders and drivers
  • Develop & Optimize Processes. Take big picture ideas and break them into actionable steps.
  • Build and develop strong relationships with senior cross-functional teams in order to successfully contribute to the long-term growth of the subregion
  • Actively reinforce the cultural tone of Uber within Peru’s operations team
  • Manage and develop a team of high performers

 

Specialist Experience

  • 5+ years of experience with a proven track record of managing individuals is expected, but we will consider candidates with less experience if they meet other requirements
  • Ideal background experience in consulting, investment banking, operations-intense fast-paced environment, entrepreneurial setting, or related field. You like taking initiative and easily adapt to constantly-changing work environment
  • Strong people management skills - you can set the tone for your team; driving towards results while also being empathetic to their challenges - EQ is a must-have
  • Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking
  • Creative solutions mindset with an affinity to constantly A/B test ideas and continuously approve
  • Stellar networking and communication skills; you can make smart partnerships happen and inspire the people around you, in person and in the press
  • Entrepreneurial DNA
  • MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred, but not required
  • SQL proficiency is a plus
