LATAM Operations Strategy PMO

Job Description

Across PepsiCo, we have the need to build new capabilities in our supply chain operation that will be critical to achieving long-term, sustainable growth, and to supporting our demand changes. Reshaping our manufacturing footprint and supply chain / distribution network structure across LATAM, involving activities such as shutting down redundant or inefficient manufacturing sites, opening new manufacturing sites to support our new strategy, optimizing our DCs network operation, automating our production lines across LATAM, and helping us to optimize our operating margin.

The APU Operations Strategy PMO will be part of the Operations and Strategy team reporting to the LatAm Operations Strategy and Sr Manager. On his/her role he/she will be responsible for overall project execution, risk control and mitigation, scope control, and for ensuring the delivery to project outcomes for projects / programs assigned to him / her.

Main Purpose:

  • Ensure proper execution of the assigned project / program portfolio.
  • Work together with Regional PMO to develop and apply a work methodology to allow local Pillar Leaders and Track Leaders to achieve their results.
  • Support the Pillar Leaders and Track Leaders; provide the knowledge, tools and abilities required for them to successfully complete their projects.
  • Provide information and feedback to the Execution team, local management, Pillar Leaders, the regional Management Team, Executive Owner and Steering Committee on overall program and individual project status and action plans needed.
  • Contribute qualitatively on the projects forecasting process for the region.
  • Ensure full alignment between Initiatives/ Targets / Timing / Resources and financial deliverables.

Accountabilities :

  • This person will be accountable for secure the execution of Capex investment, with associated annualized productivity, aligning strategies, follow-ups and work streams to deliver the execution and productivity targets set ensuring projects are on schedule and within budget.
  • Program Management :
    • Following regional PMO guidelines, builds project manager capability and support the structuring of the program for success, including establishment of a clear governance model and tailoring best practices methodology to meet project specific needs.
    • Leads the different project summits and milestones. Ensures all key players are engaged and providing the support required from them.
    • Identifies and closes the gap on resources needed.
    • Identifies innovation and provides thought leadership on process improvements for project management processes.
    • Encourages use and understanding of the standards, processes, tools, and methodology to deliver successful projects.
    • Trains and coaches project managers in project management practices.
    • Helps local project Leaders and functional Leaders structure projects for success.
    • Ensures correct application of change control procedure for requested changes.
    • Align transformation agenda with OU investment plan.

Program Management Office

  • Create transparency to the progress made on deliverables and achieving key milestones providing project visibility to all management levels in a clear and consistent manner according to the determined frequency and status report template.
  • Proactively look for early detection of risks, and issues that can impede the delivery of the project.
  • Escalation of barriers and decisions needed on timely basis.
  • Support Risks & Issues identification and management and provide escalation support for all actions and decisions that require input from senior levels of management.
  • Support the change control procedure for major changes.
  • Follow regional PMO guidelines.
  • Drive clarity via stakeholder communication
    • Documenting scope (elevator message ) and publishing
    • Communicating key decisions on timely basis: Publishing meeting minutes with key decisions, action items and next steps
    • Identify churn on a topic, organize the discussion and drive to conclusion
    • Rollout project management process to the integrated team
    • Document and share best practices, and lessons learned
    • Status templates, team structure, governance, milestone tracker
  • Deliver Consolidate program timeline
    • Collect individual project timeline updates and create/maintain overall view
    • Drive interdependency discussions and critical milestone with work stream leads
      • ID & report on critical path status, missed delivery dates and impacts


Specialist Experience



  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistic, engineering, or related courses;
  • Desirable Post Graduation (MBA or Project Management certification)
  • PMP Certification.
  • Proven Project Management skills and experience
  • At least 8 years of experience managing complex projects. Previous experience managing projects with budget over $ 30 MM USD
  • Personal relationships skills due to a large number of internal stakeholders and team member that will be required to manage on a daily basis
  • Previous experience managing people
  • Ability to lead and influence people, autonomy and initiative, used to work with horizontal processes and multimodal organization. Strong in execution, bias for action;
  • Negotiation skills and strategic thinking
  • Must be willing to travel 40% of the time.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish;
