Janssen Supply Group, LLC, part of Janssen Supply Chain (JSC), is recruiting for a Senior Director Strategy.  We are open to consider the role to be based at any one of our JSC sites, with preference for the following countries - US/PR; Belgium; Switzerland; UK/ IRL; Netherlands; Italy; Singapore; China or Korea.

The Senior Director, Digital Strategy is responsible for the development, evaluation, and execution of the strategic direction for JSC digital strategy by leading and delivering digital transformation for Janssen Supply Chain.  Will drive the development and execution of our digital vision, prioritized initiatives and deliver purposeful innovation insights and business analytics tools, techniques and processes – leading the execution plan to deliver both near and long-term milestones for JSC.  This role will play a significant influencing role across the segments in the JJSC Enterprise and across JSC and will be a member of the JSC Strategy & Deployment leadership team as well as the JJSC Digital Council.
 
Principal Responsibilities:
 
Digital Strategy (40% of the time):
  • Development, evaluation, and execution of the strategic direction for JSC digital strategy
  • Align the supply chain digital strategy with Janssen One and JJSC to accelerate our ability to serve customers.
  • Develop and implement new innovative insights and business analytics tools, techniques and processes.
  • Shape digital strategy, in partnership with the J&J End-to-End Functions including JJSC, Commercial and R&D teams, 3rd party data acquisition, delivery and usage.
  • Increase organizational understanding and engagement of Janssen Genius and Janssen digital supply chain strategy
  • Connect with Manufacturing for the Future and collaborate to drive business case acceleration.
Deliver Digital & Advanced Analytics Capabilities (40% of the time):
  • Lead business experts, analyze the end-to-end value chain, identify digital business improvement and external customer opportunities, break-down into manageable components that can be solved by employing digital capabilities including visualization and analytics. 
  • Identify insights and work with stakeholders to achieve business improvements.
  • Drive improvement in data-driven decision making including but not limited to:  aligning data and data systems to meet the needs of the Janssen Supply Chain end-to-end focus.   
  • Diagnose data requirements and roadmap prior to digital project launch, ensuring correct processes are put in place to improve and maintain, including the identification of business owners for data domains for long-term sustainability.
  • Outline process for ad-hoc data extraction from source systems if not in data warehouse.
  • Assess technologies for application such as blockchain.
  • Serve as a global expert on maximizing business impact through data
  • Leverage Advanced Analytics and collaborate with Planning function to optimize processes in Planning such:
    1. Improve demand forecast accuracy. Analytics across historical plan / actual launch curves and current launch parameters to improve demand forecast
    2. Achieve SLOB/Stockout Reduction via network modeling & alerting
Connect (20% of the time):
  • Interact with all functions driving the End to End Supply Chain digital strategy considering all data needs.
  • Lead and represent JSC on the Digital Council to:
    1. Shape needed capabilities to drive the digital supply chain strategy
    2. Oversee the ecosystem of technologies to enable our digital supply chain.
    3. Connect digital projects across the Janssen Supply Chain and JJSC organization
  • Share & leverage best practice digital strategies with other segments
  • Lead projects to eliminate bottlenecks, and de-risk current process and coordinate all relevant Supply Chain data related functions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic industry associations and thought-leaders; benchmark current capability and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee the external ecosystem of technologies to drive Janssen to be at the cutting edge of enabling new digital solutions

 

Specialist Experience

  • A minimum of a BS or BA in business, statistics, mathematics, supply chain management or related field is required.  MBA or MS is preferred
  • A minimum of 13-15 years of progressive experience in strategic insights, commercial, business analytics, forecasting, finance, data analytics, or related field is required
  • 7+ years of experience managing people is required
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain and data sources available with a proven track record of developing and successfully implementing data strategy and using multiple data sources for achieving business objectives is required.
  • Experience with mining and modeling large data sets and applying advanced analytics method is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain management systems, tools and techniques
  • Ability to positively inspire and motivate a team
  • Proven track record of managing in a matrixed environment where a high degree of collaboration and influence is needed
  • Flexible hours to accommodate US, EMEA and AP work schedules when necessary
  • Requires domestic and international travel up to 20% of the time
The incumbent of this position needs to be a true Change Leader, i.e. must:
  • Able to lead large scale initiatives, be a team-player, collaborate successfully and build relationships with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design, structure, and lead projects are required
  • An understanding of major trends and dynamics in the pharmaceutical sector is required 
  • The ability to build and maintain credibility with senior leaders (including Group Operating Committee members) is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functional and geographic boundaries is required
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently is required
  • A proven track record of success in ambiguous and complex environments is required
  • Demonstrated ability to develop deep insights, uncover unmet needs, drive innovation, inspire, develop, collaborate and lead within a global matrixed team is required
