Associate Director, Sales (Investment Banking) – Hong Kong & Southern China Region

Job Description

The Role: You are a client-facing pre-sales/sales engineering representative for S&P Global Market Intelligence platforms and feeds covering Hong Kong and Southern China. This position is primarily responsible for sourcing new business footprint in the Capital Marketsas well as supporting growth within existing accounts.

  • Responsible for driving the revenue growth of  S&P Global Market Intelligence business across Financial Institutions (Primaririly investment banking & securities firms)throughout Hong Kong and Southern China.
  • Develop and nurture deep and strong relationships with client organizations, addressing their need for corporate development, investment analysis, capital raising, risk management and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and initiate new client relationships in designated territories and segments with client revenue generation as the primary focus.
  • Keeping up to date with key industry news and events involving clients and prospects alike, macro/ market trends impacting local M&A markets and keeping abreast of our competitive landscape.
  • Contribute to the business strategy through a deep understanding of industry regulatory requirements, market trends, client requirement, and support business development directors on market expansion practices.


Specialist Experience

  • Strong network of contacts within the financial Industry in Hong Kong & South China, preferred with strong network with Chinese investment banks
  • Relevant Investment Banking, Private Equity, Investment Management, and Financial Services Sales experience
  • Analytical capabilities including financial modeling capabilities
  • Strong communication, organization, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop comprehensive recommendations in efforts to improve the business
  • Work effectively in a team-based environment as well as independently
  • Good knowledge of the competitive landscape of Investment banking solutions


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in business, commerce or related subjects
  • At least 5 years experience in client acquisition with the financial markets (investment banking, consulting, financial advisory, research, corporate finance, or financial data business background is preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Holder of MBA and CFA Designation is preferable
