Reducing the GHG (Green House Gases) emissions is one of the TOP 5 SD targets of the Solvay Group.
A dedicated department “Climate and Energy Transition” located in the Sustainable Development & Energy (SDE) Group function has been created for addressing this Group priority and by supporting and providing solutions to the GBUs.
The Business plans and contract models manager is part of the Climate and Energy Transition department for deploying the missions and projects in Europe and for supporting the other zones (US and ASIA) on the financing and contractual schemes.
The Business plans and contract models manager reports to the Renewables Development and Project Design Manager

Current stakes & main responsibilities :

The energy transition in the frame of climate change is a medium and long term program. In the GBU centric organization of the Solvay Group, the impact and influence capabilities are key for convincing our GBUs to commit now on the projects proposed in order to anticipate and prepare the future.
On the other side, our GBUs should be more and more solicited by their customers for greening the energy needed for our products sold to them: the SDE Group Function has a strategic role to play for supporting our GBUs in this trend.
The responsibilities of the Business plans and contract models manager are mainly :
  • to identify projects of alternative energy for our industrial sites in Europe : these projects shall be enough consistent from a technical, economical and sustainable point of view
  • to promote the alternative solutions selected and to convince the concerned sites and the associated GBUs for application
  • to fill and manage a projects pipe for the next ten years           
  • to develop service offers for external customers on alternative energy that can bring value for the Group and our GBUs (PPA as example)
Main missions :
  • Manage Energy transition by providing solutions to industrial sites of Solvay GBUs located in Europe
  • Provide consistent (technically and economically) solutions to industrial sites regarding case by case the potential alternatives to conventional / fossil fuels and for all types of energy used (heat and electricity)
  • Promote the solutions proposed to the industrial sites and the associated GBUs with the appropriate business model (investment / partners / type of contract…)
  • The long term objective of Solvay is to exit from fossil fuels (direct and indirect) by 2050: in the next 10 years, at least 1/3 of the global energy used shall be provided from alternative solutions.
  • Assist the Climate & Energy transition pole for the investment, financing and contractual scheme to be proposed to the GBUs for all the energy transition projects in all zones, Be in charge of the economical assessment of the projects and of the financing and contractual scheme to be proposed, being a support and giving guidance in this field  to the SDE US and Asia managers. 


Specialist Experience

  • Background : MBA or Master - Financial and/or technical background
  • An experience in Finance would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of energy markets for 5 to 10 years
  • Market analysis and business model competences



Knowledge of  :

  • Energy markets  & Energy policy trends
  • Market of external developers and partners.
  • Technologies in energy transition.


 Fluency in English is required
