Job Description

The CRDN Senior BU Manager has the pivotal role to establish the vision and set the strategy for the Business Unit organization in CEE. You will be responsible for transforming the sales and marketing organization to align with the newly defined customer segments and ensuring that Go to Market (GTM) changes are implemented, and establishing an innovative, state-of-the-art Marketing and Market Development function that combines traditional product marketing with a forward thinking CRDN upstream perspective. Other key responsibilities include orchestrating CRDN activities with other CVG SBUs and Medtronic support functions in the country and particularly also strengthening the collaboration with IHS and support CVG Strategic Account initiatives.
The CEE CRDN Senior BU Manager will lead a team of Area Sales Managers or Regional Sales Managers, BU multi-channel sales team, as well as the in-country BU Marketing & Market Development team.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Change / Transformation Leadership

  • Leads the transformation of CRDN towards a VBHC capable organization by building trusted partnership relations with our largest customers (Strategic and IHS), increasing the focus on dedicated therapies and establishing an innovative multi-channel sales team.
  • Drives all change initiatives by being a role model and mobilizes their teams as well as other stakeholders to commit to this strategic and cultural change to align with CVG’s HEART vision.

Strategic Market Development

  • In line with EMEA strategic guidelines and in strong collaboration and partnership with the BU Marketing & Market Development Leader and the CRDN BU in-country leaders, creates and defines the CRDN Marketing & Market Development strategy to produce economic growth and expand the business in alignment with overall CRDN business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Encourage the development of new market development initiatives and assessment of business opportunities (PAA), encourages the CRDN Marketing/Market Development Manager to prepare financial feasibility studies and develop proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Ensures close and effective cooperation with EMEA and Global therapy and program owners to implement global and EMEA initiatives.

  • Builds a high performing and highly engaged CRDN team, recognizing the diversity across all CSH businesses, in country by fostering leadership and employee involvement, enhancing teamwork and accountability.

  • Develops and maintains an effective communication process with other CVG Leaders to ensure organizational alignment within CVG.
  • Coordinate with other SBU Managers to ensure alignment of sales with other business functions to facilitate achievement of overall company strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate and integrating CVG & Medtronic Functions in country.
  • Promotes a trusting and progressive culture within the team and develops a broad set of collaborative relationships across the organization, connects well and empathically with other areas. 
  • Leverages matrix relationships to align others.

Business & Customer Management

  • Establish annually, quarterly and monthly CRDN Sales and Marketing objectives in coordination with the overall company’s business plan and create, in coordination with CRDN EMEA marketing and with the assistance of Regional/District Sales Managers and Product Managers an annual business plan to meet these objectives.
  • Lead the budgeting process, incl. sales forecasts, marketing investments and BU P&L responsibility.
  • Manage and track the sales organization progress in achieving sales and business objectives target on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Manage development and implementation of corrective actions necessary to achieve sales objectives.
  • Manage and control the CRDN SBU OPEX budget on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Monitor CRDN SBU teams acting in compliance with the FCPA and company requirements.
  • Build long term productive and mutually beneficial relationships with CVG key decision makers and key opinion leaders.
  • Effectively engage and coordinate with sales leadership, and marketing functions to establish a coordinated customer approach through consistent communication.
  • Continuously work to gain proficiency pertaining to the industry, the market, and the company’s evolving customer value offering.
  • Ensure close and effective cooperation with CRDN EMEA Marketing to implement global and EMEA initiatives.




Specialist Experience


  • BS/BA degree in marketing, economics, or biomedical engineering.
  • MBA and / or additional Healthcare related (scientific or engineering) post-graduate degree a plus.
  • 10+ years professional experience in a business function (Sales, Marketing, Business / Market Development).
  • 7+ years professional experience in Healthcare / Medical Devises / Pharma in a mature European market.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, ideally with heterogenous sales and marketing teams.
  • Solid experience in a large corporate environment with a significant matrix culture.  
  • Experienced in managing fast paced growth environment as well a mature / commoditized business segment.
  • Fluency in English and local language.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.


  • Determines solutions to issues that meet the needs of the BU team in achieving sales goals and objectives.
  • Discerns the strategic customer’s needs and points of satisfaction with the existing situation.
  • Proactively determines superior solutions that meet the customer’s business challenges which also benefit the company’s financial performance with the account.
  • Possesses a strong grasp of company’s business strategy and future growth plans for their area of responsibility.
  • Able to quantify financial impact of decisions and identifies key factors when making recommendations.
  • Constructs strong profit, Gross Margin, ROI, and cost/benefit analyses.
  • Able to effectively manage the country BU budget to provide business growth and demonstrate fiscal responsibility.
  • Deep understanding of local market dynamics, market insights, trends and competitive environment.
  • Identifies in advance major changes in National marketplace pertaining to distribution, pricing, promotion, regulation, regionalization etc.
  • Intimate insight into company’s value offerings and how they meet the market and customer needs.
  • Leverages industry knowledge to create a sales advantage.
  • Recognizes and understands political landscape within the company and among Business Units.

Travel Required: Willingness to travel 50 - 70% of time.
