(Senior) Manager Finance – External Supply

Provide wide-ranging financial support to a team of Operations Managers within the Pfizer Global External Supply Organization (GES Ops). The scope of the organization includes a large network of globally spread Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and multi-Billion in Cost of Goods Sold. The role will be responsible for partnering with and providing financial guidance to the assigned group of GES Ops Managers on the financial tactical and strategic aspects of the CMO portfolio they are managing, as well as the associated products.  This will cover all financial aspects including Budget, Monthly Actuals, Forecast, Costing Inventory, Internal Controls & Compliance, as well as all ad hoc support.  In addition the role will provide global support to the geographically diverse GES Finance Team on select parts of the various Financial Processes and associated projects.




  • Partner with GES Ops Managers and provide value-added financial guidance in strategic and operational decisions, performance analysis and projects (e.g. product launches, make-or buy decisions, financial support for CMOs, transfers, negotiations, …)
  • Support ad hoc projects such as product transfers, divestments and acquisitions as well as actively support the identification of opportunities to reduce cost and/or increase efficiencies
  • Review and analyze the monthly Actuals financial transactions, ensuring validity, accuracy, timeliness and compliance, and ensure the appropriate bookings incl. Accruals, Provisions, etc. are done.
  • Provide appropriate value–added analysis of the Actuals to GES Ops and GES Finance Leadership
  • In partnership with GES Ops and other Functions generate & analyze Forecasts, reflecting all foreseen financial impacts and variances and identified Sensitivities, and provide guidance on Risks and Opportunities
  • In close collaboration with GES Operations and Finance, as well as various other Functions, consolidate, analyze and interpret the financial data required for the Annual Budget, identifying key areas of focus for Risks and Opportunities
  • Review and validate Standard Costs and ensure accurate and timely consolidation of Budget data in appropriate systems.
  • Serve as key contact within GES Finance for all financial matters pertaining to the assigned portfolio.
  • Consistently work in compliance with the defined SOX procedures and other Corporate Governance requirements, and ensure awareness of these within GES Ops.
  • Support the continuous utilization and optimization of the Pfizer systems.



Specialist Experience

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting.  Advanced Degree/Professional Accounting Qualification is a Plus (MBA, CMA, CPA)
  • 7+ Years experience in financial roles in a manufacturing environment, including costing, financial planning & analysis
  • Strong analytical & communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in global matrix teams
  • Established customer & partnership focus
  • Strong PC skills in MS Office Package, esp. Excel, and solid  SAP knowledge, specifically in Finance related modules
  • Demonstrate Pfizer values and OWN IT culture
  • Travel up to ~10%
