A ground-breaking company making game-changing products needs an exceptional supply chain. Commodity Management within Materials and Procurement develops and implements plans to support forecasted needs for suppliers or commodities. We use our in-depth knowledge of foreign and domestic markets to negotiate supplier agreements and contracts with optimum pricing and terms. We also harness our understanding of commodity qualities, transportation options, risk management and supply chain evaluation models to develop optimal commodity management strategies.


  • Manage Dell's relationship with critical Consulting and Labor suppliers
  • Service as the subject matter expert for purchasing Consulting and Labor services
  • Support the development of strategic sourcing plans
  • Understanding key cost drivers and developing should-cost models
  • Negotiating cost and contract terms
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve performance and innovate
  • Benchmarking procurement trends for assigned category
  • Participate in transformational initiatives and strive to continually improve procurement processes and procedures



Specialist Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in a corporate environment and 2+ years of procurement experience as a category manager or similar role
  • Experience with indirect or general procurement categories
  • Strong analytical capabilities including report development and analysis as well as making data-driven recommendations and decisions
  • Ability to build effective business relationships internally and externally as well as to clearly communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Strong presentation delivery and development skills
  • Effective project/program management capabilities


  • Experience working with customer Human Capital suppliers and working within a large, global, center-led procurement team
  • MBA, CPSM, PMP or related professional certifications
  • Experience with e-procurement tools such as Ariba
  • Category management or similar procurement experience with professional services categories
  • Experience working within a company and/or organization undergoing a transformation
