Department overview:

The Greater China Business Relationship Management (BRM) division provides tactical marketing and business development management covering all Fitch Ratings product groups.  The team is responsible for:

  • Issuer Marketing (across Sovereign , Financial Institutions, Corporates, Structured Finance, International Public Finance and Infrastructure Finance and amongst others)
  • Banker / Arranger outreach
  • Manage visibility and positioning Fitch in Greater China and Asia




The job holder will be responsible for International Public Finance (IPF) / Infrastructure Finance (GIG) / Corporate Finance BRM effort in North China and the position is part of the Greater China BRM team covering all the rating products.  The job holder will cover both IPF issuers and Beijing based IPF bankers to lead the IPF business origination in North China.

  • Work closely with the senior business originator based in Beijing to meet the 2017 IPF / GIG / Corporate revenue budgets for Beijing Centre
  • Maintain and build existing IPF / GIG / Corporate issuer relationships in North China.  Identify potential new issuers and acquire new relationships via direct marketing to targeted issuers in the aforementioned area
  • Nurture relationships with IPF / GIG / Corporate investment bankers / underwriters / relationship managers / sector bankers located in Beijing to explore/secure new mandates for Fitch Ratings
  • Work closely with internal/external counterparts (issuer, banker, analysts, etc) to assure smooth execution on new rating exercises
  • Lead the renegotiation on covered issuer contract renewals, instruct the junior BRM Associate to prepare for billings and work closely with accounts to chase overdue receivables
  • Raise the visibility for Fitch Ratings with all stakeholders via various outreach initiatives (conferences, seminars, one-on-one meetings, electronic delivery, analyst meetings, etc)
  • Work in close coordination with Analytical Team Heads
  • Maintain and track IPF / GIG / Corporate deal flows and provides monthly activity status reports
  • Manage the region’s BRM MIS reporting requirements
  • Provide back-up coverage to the business originators in Greater China when needed


Specialist Experience

  • A minimum of five years relevant marketing or relationship management experience in debt capital markets or banking/financial services sectors
  • College or MBA degree with specialization in business, finance and other relevant disciplines
  • Some exposure to Bloomberg, effective presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior management and market participants on important industry issues
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Good command of spoken and written Mandarin Chinese and English
