Export Project Manager / Trade Specialist

Job Description

This is a new position located in Gdansk, Poland or Swindon, England reporting to the Director of Trade for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa Region EMEA. The position supports the Global Trade organization to help Intel ensure that the export of goods, technology, and services complies with applicable EU and US governments' laws and regulations.Intel's Global Trade is part of the Finance organization. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with trade experts in more than 20 countries and share in-depth knowledge across all aspects of trade compliance. The role will influence Intel's future policies on managing technology control plans at a regional & global level. By joining the Global Trade team in EMEA, the candidate will be part of this exciting time of technological and regulatory evolution and have a positive impact on global trade and supply chain compliance.


Responsibilities of this role include:

- classification of goods, technology, and services being exported which differentiates defense-related products and services from dual-use/commercial trade controls

- obtain defense and dual-use export and temporary import authorizations from EU countries

- collaboration with the US Global Export Compliance team to review commercial services in the military and government customer space and determine whether dual-use or defense-trade regulations apply

- assist US team on preparation of US EAR and ITAR export authorizations completion and retention of required export documentation compilation and submission of reports and definition and implementation of compliance plans and programs to support business initiatives.


Trade Specialist/PM Role:

- Establish relationships with business leaders and stakeholders as necessary to support the company's business plans while ensuring compliance with export and import/temporary import regulations

- Determine the jurisdiction and classification for a range of products, technology, software and technical services/support. This includes differentiation between what is defense/munitions from dual-use/commercial trade activities.

- Partner with customers and suppliers as needed to determine the export compliance requirements of third party technical data and software.

- Educate and guide internal customers on information requirements for license and technical assistance agreement applications.

- Draft, implement, and manage technology control plans when required.

- Provide advice and guidance on day-to-day compliance matters regarding export compliance.

- Develop and conduct export compliance training as needed.


Specialist Experience

Minimum Qualifications:  
- BA or MBA preferred or a combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years in Trade Compliance
-  Experience making export jurisdiction and classification assessments for services, software, technology and products.  
-  Experience obtaining and managing defense and dual-use export approvals in EU countries is essential, particularly experience in Poland and UK  
-  Experience with EU countries' defense trade regulations as well as knowledge of US defense trade regulations ITAR.    
-  Fluency in English.  

Additional desired skills:   
-  Familiarity with export controls for FPGAs, Integrated Circuits, CCL categories 3, 4, and 5 part 1 & 2.  
-  Fluency in Polish and other languages a plus.  
-  Ability to work with minimal supervision in cross-department and global environment.
-  Strong Program Management and organization skills, communications, and influencing strategies.
-  Ability to formulate and drive recommendations in a rapidly evolving environment.
