Worldwide Developer Relations, Evangelism/Partnership Manager

Job Description

Apple is looking for an energized, focused, and highly motivated individual to join the Worldwide Developer Relations team.  This individual will manage relationships with developer organizations and get such developers to create innovative products that fully leverage key iOS, watchOS and macOS technologies across all key app genres, and ensure that these apps exhibit best-in-class user experience, performance, and feature sets. He/she will also be expected to cultivating relationships with new and existing software developers to inspire and promote application development, while ensuring the continued delivery of world-class third-party content for iOS devices, Apple Watch and Macs. This  individual will work closely with Technology Evangelists and Partnership Managers, in Japan and in the US, to raise the app quality bar and to deliver great titles for local consumption and also for the worldwide market. Relationship and account management skills will be useful, along with the ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization.  The individual must be self-directed and be a team player, capable of interfacing across a broad spectrum of teams.  The successful candidate will be result driven and possess a keen attention to detail, remarkable follow-through, and an ability to focus on strategic agendas while keeping day-to-day job activities current.

  • Work with the Korea Developer community and Apple cross-functional teams to bring strategic, best-in-class products to Apple devices.
  • Working one on one with 3rd-party software development teams and decision makers to ensure their products are best of class or next generation apps, through UI/UX reviews and technology audits.
  • Driving adoption of iOS, watchOS and macOS technologies such as 3D touch, App Search, Multitasking, WatchKit, ClockKit and Metal by identifying specific opportunity for each 3rd party.
  • Support developer technology adoption requirements through effectively working independently and in close collaboration with all WWDR functional teams, Product Marketing, iTunes, Engineering, App Store, and senior management. Presenting core Apple technologies to a developer audience in an effective and clear manner.
  • Cultivate and share mobile industry and competitive 3rd party landscape knowledge with peers and management, with ability across all segments of the app-ecosystem.
  • Promote the adoption of the iOS software development kit (iPhone, iPad), WatchKit (Apple Watch) and other development tools with third-party application developers.
  • The successful candidate must be capable of developing and contributing ideas based on original, novel, and sometimes unconventional approaches to inspire developers to deliver best-in-class products for the Apple ecosystem.
  • Maintain a high level of business expertise, combined with a strong understanding of product development, specifically, the tools and technologies relevant to app development across all major platforms.
  • Attend industry conferences to stay current on trends and capitalize on outreach opportunities.


Specialist Experience

  • BS/BA degree, MS/MA/MBA or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years professional programming experience in C, C++, Obj-C or Swift
  • Hands-on development experience with iOS, macOS and Apple’s Xcode development environment is desirable
  • Knowledge of mobile application development processes, developer support programs, and product development required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, combined with a mature, diplomatic approach in all communications required
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in both Korean and English are a must (both written and verbal)
  • Effective presenter in a variety of presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large group required
  • Mobile hardware or software relationship management experience highly desirable
  • Experience and a demonstrable passion for all Apple platforms preferred
  • Highly professional, with the ability to deliver quality work under pressure and on tight schedules
  • At ease dealing with rapidly changing environment
  • Japanese language skill is a plus.
